2009 Allstate Festival of Balloons in Tigard

These are some of my photos from his year's balloon festival held at Cook Park in Tigard. I was hoping the sky would clear up and show us some blue, but this was not the case. Though, I'm pretty happy that the weather conditions did allow the balloons to get off the ground. Thanks for taking a look at my photos.

2009 Alaskan Cruise

On June 6th, we headed off to Seattle, WA to catch our cruise ship. These are our photos from that cruise to Alaska. Cruising is a great way to see Alaska, and I know we will be doing this again.

2009 Rose Festival Fireworks Display

In celebration of opening day of the 2009 Rose Festival season, there was a fireworks display that evening. This display drew in the crowds early... thus, I set myself up to shoot over their heads.

2008 Jamison Square Xmas Tree Lighting

Make-A-Wish together with local radio station, K103 kicked off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony at Jamison Square in the Pearl District. This evening's guest of honor was Wish Kid McKenna, who was invited to light the tree. There was also a choir on hand to sing Christmas Carols to get everybody into the holiday spirit.

2008 Food Wine & Wishes

Food Wine & Wishes is an annual fund raising event hosted by the Oregon Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. This year, it was held at Portland's Art Museum.

Make-A-Wish at Motocorsa

The Junior Board members of Make-A-Wish put together a fund raising party, Summer Wishes: Race to the Runway. This event was held at Motocorsa in N.W. Portland. Great food and drinks were served, and there was also a fashion show that featured clothes from local designers. The special guest for the evening was wish kid McKenna. She took to the runway with the models and later the showed all her moves on the dance floor. This event raise money to help make local wishes come true.

Hoover Dam Photos

My wife & I headed to Las Vegas for a long weekend in early December. While there, we headed out to see Hoover Dam. The dam is about a 45 min. drive from Las Vegas. I must admit, when we arrived on site, I wasn't really prepared for what I was to see. This is one of the largest structures I have ever seen.

Red Rock Canyon Nevada

On our trip to Las Vegas, we took some time to head out to see one of Nevada's Red Rock Canyons. We drove out to the most popular canyon which runs just east of the Spring Mountains, one of the many hill ranges that surround Las Vegas. We decided the best and easiest way to view the canyon was via the Red Rock Canyon Scenic Drive. This is a 13 mile, one-way paved road that includes some of the best views of the canyon.

Portland's Classical Chinese Garden

I finally made it out to Portland's Classical Chinese Garden to shoot photos. The small overall size of the garden, made it challenging to get photos without other people being in them. I just kept moving around and managed to get a few.

Update: I made another visit recently and added some new photos. You'll see them towards the later part of the gallery. Thanks for looking!
