Make-A-Wish at Motocorsa

The Junior Board members of Make-A-Wish put together a fund raising party, Summer Wishes: Race to the Runway. This event was held at Motocorsa in N.W. Portland. Great food and drinks were served, and there was also a fashion show that featured clothes from local designers. The special guest for the evening was wish kid McKenna. She took to the runway with the models and later the showed all her moves on the dance floor. This event raise money to help make local wishes come true.

Memorial Weekend Wine Tasting

Our good friend Jessica invited my wife and I along for a tour thru Oregon wine country. She gathered a select group of friends and rented a van to get them all there safely and comfortably. Jessica even made sure that the weather cooperated. The tour included stops at three wineries... Penner-Ash, Bell Pente, and Carlton Winemaker's Studio. A good time was had by all...

2007 Food Wine & Wishes

Once a year, the Oregon chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation puts together a banquet to raise funds. This year, the gala event was hosted at the Governor's Hotel. A little over $295,000 was raised that evening... these funds will help to make the wishes of children living with life threatening medical conditions come true.

Oregon Zoo's Winged Wonders Exhibit

The Oregon Zoo holds photography workshops, and I went to the one for butterflies recently. This workshop is pretty laid back, with up to 18 other photographers in this session. Using sophisticated dSLR's all the way down to simple point & shoot cameras, the photographers were all hoping to get some great photos of these colorful insects. And because this workshop was set-up by the zoo, we were allowed to "step out of bounds" within the Winged Wonders exhibit to get better angles or views of the butterflies. It was a whole bunch of fun, and a great chance to practice shooting a subject you might not find just anywhere.

Cinco de Mayo Fireworks
